The story behind it

Erik-Jan, and the people who made the road

Erik-Jan grew up in the Netherlands and studied analytical chemistry, first at ROC Aventus and then at Saxion. At eighteen he already knew what he wanted to do with his life: be useful to other people. Everything that came after was a way of learning how.

Over the years he travelled through Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. In every place he saw the same: ordinary people taking care of each other as neighbours, as strangers, even when they had no reason to.

He lives with a cavernoma in the left side of his brain. Despite medication, he has seizures at least once a day, and they can happen at any moment. Every single time it has happened in the street, in countries where he didn't speak the language, someone stopped to help him. That is why he is convinced there is a great deal of love in the world. And that there are already people improving life for others and for the planet, everywhere. What is missing is bringing them together.

In 2019 the name finally came: Create The New World. Today, at last, he is giving it life.

What counts as value

A healthier life. A stronger community. A child who learns. A restored ecosystem. A problem solved.

A drop can be almost anything: an idea, a question, an hour of your time, a skill, a spare room, some money, or simply the wish to learn.

You don't need a project or a title. If you're curious and want to help, that's enough to start.

A single drop does not form the ocean. And yet, without each drop, the ocean would not exist.

The future is not something we wait for. Together, drop by drop, we create it.
